Annekathrin Kohout ist freie Autorin und Gastprofessorin an der Universität der Künste Berlin. Sie studierte Germanistik, Kunstwissenschaft, Medientheorie, Philosophie und Fotografie in Dresden, Karlsruhe und Leipzig. Bis 2015 arbeitete sie am ZKM | Karlsruhe. Von 2016 bis 2022 war sie Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Germanistischen Seminar der Universität Siegen, wo sie im Mai 2021 über den Nerd als Sozialfigur promovierte. Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als freie Autorin ist sie Mitherausgeberin der Buchreihe "Digitale Bildkulturen" im Verlag Klaus Wagenbach sowie der Zeitschrift "POP. Kultur und Kritik". Sie ist Mitglied des Editorial Bords des internationalen "Journal of Global Pop Cultures", von AICA (Association Internationale des Critiques d'Art) sowie des Goethe-Instituts. Als Sachbuchautorin schrieb sie Bücher über Netzfeminismus, Nerds und K-Pop. Als Gastdozentin unterrichtet sie regelmäßig an verschiedenen Hochschulen und Universitäten.

 

Annekathrin Kohout is a freelance writer and guest professor at the Berlin University of the Arts. She studied German literature, art history, media theory, philosophy, and photography in Dresden, Karlsruhe, and Leipzig. She has worked at the ZKM | Karlsruhe until 2015 and later served as a research assistant at the Department of German Studies at the University of Siegen from 2016 to 2022, where she completed her doctorate on the nerd as a social figure in May 2021. In addition to her freelance writing, she co-edits the book series Digitale Bildkulturen (Klaus Wagenbach Publishers) and the journal POP. Kultur und Kritik. She is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Global Pop Cultures, AICA (Association Internationale des Critiques d'Art), and the Goethe-Institut. As a non-fiction author, she has written books on internet feminism, nerd culture, and K-Pop, and frequently teaches as a guest lecturer at various colleges and universities.
